When something goes wrong
Getting help quickly, wherever you are.
Independent Seniors
Eight books. One aim: to help you stay safe and in charge of your own life. Each book takes one part of everyday safety and makes it clear, practical, and doable.
Books 1 and 2 available now. Books 3 to 8 coming soon.
Staying independent isn't one problem. It's a handful of smaller ones, and each has its own answers. We grouped the series into four themes so you can see where each book belongs.
Getting help quickly, wherever you are.
A home that's easy to move around in and hard to break into.
Spotting the tricks and keeping what's yours.
Strength, balance, thinking, and getting around.
Find the line that sounds most like you. That's your book.
Still not sure? Start with Book 1. It's the one everyone benefits from first.
Each book stands on its own. Each one ends with a Fact References chapter and comes with a companion checklist.
Anyone who lives alone, spends time alone, or wants a plan for the moments when help has to come fast.
A clear picture of which alert setup fits your life, and the confidence that if something happens, help is a button or a fall away.
eBook $9.99 · Audiobook $14.99 · Paperback $19.99
Anyone who wants to keep living in their own home, and anyone helping a parent do the same.
A home that fits the way you live now, with common hazards dealt with and a short list of what to do next.

Anyone who answers the phone, opens the mail, or gets a knock at the door. So, everyone.
A calm, practical way to handle any unexpected approach, and the words to end the conversation.
Anyone who uses email, banks online, shops online, or video-calls family, and wants to do it with less worry.
Settings you've actually checked, habits that hold up, and a lot less second-guessing every message.
Anyone who's noticed small memory slips and wants to know what helps, what doesn't, and what's worth discussing with a doctor.
A realistic view of what supports a sharp mind, and a short list of things you can start this week.
Anyone who wants to feel settled at home, day and night, without turning the house into a fortress.
A secure home that still feels like home, and a clear plan for who to call and what to do if something's wrong.
Anyone who wants the strength, balance, and energy to keep doing what they love.
A plain, realistic routine that supports the rest of the series, because a steadier body makes every other safety step easier.
Talk with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.
Anyone who wants to keep getting out and about, whether that means walking, driving, or finding new ways to travel.
More ways to get where you want to go, on your terms, with the right support when you want it.
No. Each book stands alone. The numbers are there because Book 1 is the one most people need first: if something goes wrong, getting help fast matters more than anything else. After that, go where your life takes you. Reading the whole series in order gives you the complete picture, but starting with the book that solves today's worry is just as good.
Every figure in the series is checked against a credible, named source and listed in full in the book's Fact References chapter. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
I learnt that such things existed as changing the text size on my iPhone, setting a louder ring tone, and that I have a torch and a magnifying glass built in.
My Dad has fallen so many times, if he doesn't have his phone with him, I'm not sure what would happen. I think every family in our position should read this.
Quotes are from readers and are shared with their permission. Experiences vary.
They're written for adults who want to stay independent as they get older, and for the family members who care about them. Plenty of readers in their fifties buy them for a parent and end up reading them too.
No. Where a book mentions technology, it explains it from the beginning. The audiobook and eBook editions are simple to use, and the paperback needs no technology at all.
Yes. The eBook editions let you set any text size you like.
Our Refund Policy sets out how we handle that. Read the Refund Policy, or contact us and we'll help.
No. Each book stands on its own. Most people start with Book 1 or with the book that matches what's on their mind today.
